Rocky Roars Back To Health

Rocky - now cured of feline hyperthyroidism by Andrew Bodey

Last year Rocky was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism by our vet.  He was prescribed tablets to see how he got on, but unfortunately, after two weeks of wrapping tablets in pieces of cheese to get them into him, he became unwell and after another visit to Bernard, it was found out that he was allergic to the tablets.

More discussion followed to decide the best form of treatment and it became obvious that the radioactive treatment was the best option for him.  At the age of 14, it was felt that the operations needed were too risky for him.  Bernard got in touch with Andrew Bodey at Wetherby to arrange matters and early January 2015 found us, with a very unhappy cat, in the car on our way to Wetherby.

Andrew Bodey and his staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble and no question too trivial to answer.  Rocky was booked in and we returned home.  We knew he was in the best possible place, but were worried and concerned about him.  Home was not the same without him, even his sister, Alice missed him.  He was not annoying her and trying to steal her food!

We had daily updates on his progress, usually starting with “little Rocky is fine …….” and 10 days later, we were able to fetch him home.  It was lovely to have him back, but he didn’t understand why he had to stay in one room for 2 weeks.  Once the quarantine period was over, Rocky returned to his place on our bed and back to his normal routine.

A very big “Thank You” to Andrew and his wonderful staff, without you, Rocky wouldn’t be with us now.
